Princess Python was the first villainess that Spider-Man encountered in Amazing Spider-Man #22, where she was part of the Clowns Masters of Menace, after their usual leader the Ringmaster was "thrown out". Of course their plans were thwarted by Spider-Man, but that didn't stop the snake-charming Zelda. She went on to have a very long career getting involved in many battles and situations against many a foe. Some of these encounters include Thor #145-147 where she and her fellow Circus of Crime partners battled a de-powered Thor. She was also an uninvited guest at Yellowjacket and the Wasp's wedding in Avengers #60, and took on Iron Man in Iron Man #50 (left). |
| Princess Python seemed to always be part of a super villain team. Whether it be the Circus of Crime, The Serpent Squad, or Serpent Society, she was seldom seen alone. She made many appearances in Captain America as part of both the Serpent Squad lead by the villainess Viper and the Serpent Society. She even battled the Hulk as part of the ole' Circus in Incredible Hulk #217. Years later, she would meet Spider-Man again in Spider-Man Team-Up #5 (pictured right). In it, she was part of the Circus again, and Howard the Duck (believe it or not) teamed with Spidey. Most recently, she appeared again with the Circus in Amazing Spider-Man Annual '98. |
