Carrion I

Note: The Carrion virus' creation is explained in detail in Scarlet Spider Unlimited #1 as originally being a serum that was meant to make the High Evolutionary's New Men (human-like animals) more human but the serum eventually transformed them into living corpses.

The first Carrion debuted in the pages of Spectacular Spider-Man and claimed to be the clone of Professor Miles Warren, AKA the Jackal and clone-master...Much later it was learned that he was someone infected with a replicator genetic virus created by Warren and his mutated DNA that later affected student Malcolm McBride...The 1st Carrion was killed by a giant Spider-Amoeba in Spectacular Spider-Man #31 until...

Spectacular Spider-Man #149 hit the shelves displaying a villain that was thought to be dead for a number of years...It turned out to be a student by the name of Malcolm McBride who stumbled upon the Carrion Virus and the virus infected him creating the second Carrion...Spider-Man also learned about the Replicator Virus from Warren's Journal he found in the Professors abandoned lab learning that the Miles left Biological "booby-traps" around campus! Since Then, Carrion has played a part in a number of storylines including teaming-up with the Hobgoblin...He then was part of the huge 14 part cross-over Maximum Carnage where he joined forces with the likes of Carnage, Demogoblin, Doppleganger & Shriek...The last that was seen of the McBride Carrion was in the storyline The Shrieking where he and Shriek are a team and Spider-Man must save McBride from the virus that also endangers his mother...The virus was seemingly cured & taken away by Shriek in the end.

If that wasn't enough, a third Carrion was introduced in the one-shot entitled Dead Man's Hand. In it, a Dr. Allen working for S.H.I.E.L.D. got infected with the Carrion virus while studying the dead corpse of the Jackal. He proved to be possibly the most powerful of all the Carrion's with his "Zombie Plague" powers...We also got another twist & turn regarding the 1st Carrion and learned that he was indeed a clone. He was last seen in the custody of S.H.I.E.L.D. awaiting a possible cure...Can there be a fourth Carrion in Spidey's future?
