Not a very good comic. I still do not understand the concept behind the whole Questprobe series but it does have something to do with a video game tie-in at the time it came out. As far as Spider-Man collector's and reader's are concerned, issue #2 is the one to seek out. Quentin Beck is behind bars where it seems he spends most of his life but breaks free by faking his own injuries from a fire that he himself set. Elsewhere, a meeting is being held light years away which will determine the fate of planets everywhere where we learn the existence of a natter energy egg and a bio-gem. The legendary gem is very powerful and is fragmented throughout the universe where it seeks to destroy all organic life. The egg is used to entrap the gems powers as it is a natural nemesis to the gem. One set of these artifacts exist where the gem has it's sight set on earth to aid itself in setting itself free from the energy egg.
Back to earth where Mysterio has invaded the offices of the Daily Bugle in order to find Spider-Man. Spider-Man eventually shows up and the inevitable battle ensues with all of Mysterio's bag of tricks and illusions. The battle comes to a halt when the Chief Examiner, from another world, shows up with Spider-Man thinking that he is Mysterio with a new illusion. The real Mysterio then pops up again and creates some very hokey illusion for Spider-Man by making him think he has turned into an insect but in fact the insect parts turn out to be props. Spider-Man then discovers the energy egg and gem but doesn't know what to make of them. The artifacts then explode making Spider-Man think it's another one of Mysterio's illusions. Mysterio, the Chief Examiner, and Spider-Man then all finally meet. The Examiner retrieves the "secrets of Spider-Man's powers" from him passing through a black door. This really does not make sense at this point, huh? Anyway, Mysterio gets free from the Examiner, and also receives his beating of the week from Spider-Man and again is left for the police. The gem desired an evil being to pass through the door to somehow free itself from the netter egg, but Mysterio denied it just that.
I really don't know what the heck to make out of this issue except that it had Spider-Man and Mysterio in it and would suggest anyone to look for it except for those completists out there.
